One of the main reasons for starting this blog is to track my goals, achieve them, set new goals, achieve those, etc.
I’ve been running off and on for years. In high school we had to do a warm-up lap, and it was grey winter morning, there were a few raindrops, I was with my friends, and I discovered… running is fun!
My relationship with running was casual… because I didn’t believe that I could achieve what I wanted to. For years, I had a goal of wanting to run a 1/2 marathon, but didn’t believe I could. Last year, I went to an all day event, where I walked, hiked, and ran a little… to complete over 20 miles of hills in one day, and that finally gave me the confidence in myself I needed.
In October I completed my first 1/2 marathon, and in February, completed my second.
I was signed up to run my third half marathon, and earn a special medal when COVID hit. I know that there are many more important things in the world besides finishing the Beach Cities Challenge, and earning my medal… I know how devastating COVID has been, but I also know that I went from not believing in myself, to believing in myself, my goals, and my abilities. SO.
I am going to train for my next half marathon, and run it virtually. It is not how I planned, but then again… nothing has gone to plan in 2020 for anyone! I want this so badly, I can’t wait! I am also going to try and PR this half.
I also signed up for the Lululemon Seaweeze Virtual 10k, In which I also hope to PR my 10k.
I’ve been working hard, and will continue to work hard to achieve my goals! After this half… I’m not sure what goal I will have next. I think I saw a post about a virtual Turkey Trot on Facebook.
